The Gert Farrington’s Bake Off
What is the Bake Off?
To support Real Bread Maker Week, Farrington’s are asking all our customers to get baking!
Real Bread Maker Week is about celebrating Real Bread and the people who make it.
How Can I take part?
On 14 and 15 May, we are running 2 after-school workshops between 4-6 pm in the Udder Room to show children some bread basics. These fun sessions will be hosted by Duncan, owner of Thoughtful Bread. To sign-up, please speak to the Café. Spaces are limited to just 20 so get your name down quickly.
But don’t worry if you can’t make the workshops. We want everyone to have a go at home and share your creations by entering them in our Bread Bake off Competition.
There are 3 categories and you can make any type of bread
- Young Bloomer ( Under 12)
- Crusty (adults)
- Unfor- Gertable! (Most Unusual variety -any age)
Entries need to be in by 1.30pm on Saturday 18th May. Pick up an entry form from the shop.
We’ll present the awards from 3pm in the afternoon and 3 lucky winners will win a signed copy of Bread Revolution, written by The Thoughtful Bread Co. Runners-up will win a Cream Tea at Farrington’s. …So get baking – your farm shop kneads you!
