The Farm

Home Farm really is a traditional mixed farm, ensuring that we can make the very best use of our land.

• Traditional livestock and crops

Most people associate the farm with the cows – and with Andy’s potatoes. Grown on the lovely red soil that’s synonymous with the Old Red Sandstone of the area, these are mainly the great all-rounder, Wilja – which also provide the potatoes for the farm kitchen and Farrington’s Café. In addition, Andy grows wheat, maize and, of course, vegetables! The farm also has a memorial and 10 acres of developing woodland.

As farm management has moved steadily towards a more organic approach to growing, wildlife has increased significantly. Groups are always welcome and we regularly host educational visits. We have an outdoor classroom and Trailer rides around the farm can be arranged to see the flora and fauna.
