Home Farm is the home of the new bakery for The Thoughtful Bread Company – built for them by Farrington‘s owner, Andy Jeffery. We’ve been selling bread from Thoughtful for a while, but relocation of the bakery to the farm will means fresh bread being wheeled into the shop daily from just across the farm yard.

Making real hand-crafted, earth-friendly, artisan breads are baker Patrick Ryan and Thoughtful’s owner Duncan Glendinning – who you may have seen on TV (he’s also writing a book!). They will continue to make full use of local and seasonal ingredients – in fact, the eggs come from the chickens pecking around outside the bakery and Andy is delighted that Duncan wants to harvest the stinging nettles from his hedgerows! Dunca has also recently built an eco-dome, where he is actually growing ingredients for the bakery including chillis! The bakery is open for customers to view and Duncan already has plans to run bread-making courses in the future, and hopes to install a traditional wood-burning clay bread-oven.
